Pigtail SC/UPC 12 colors OM4 0.9mm OFNR 3M, tight buffer

SC/UPC Fiber Pigtail (12 Colors, OM4, 0.9mm OFNR, 3M, Tight Buffer) from Red Cable Technology (RCT) — a 3-meter OM4 multimode pigtail for fusion or mechanical splicing terminations, in a 0.9mm OFNR tight-buffer construction. ## About OM4 fiber

OM4 has a suggested jacket color of aqua and is a further improvement to OM3. It too uses a 50µm core, but it supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 550 meters and 100 Gigabit Ethernet up to 150 meters. Laser-optimized multimode fiber (LOMMF) is designed for use with 850 nm VCSELs.

## Tight-buffered construction

Tight-buffered construction uses 900µm buffered fibers protected by a two-layer coating — the first plastic, the second waterproof acrylate — so the core is never at risk of exposure, unlike loose-buffered cable. Fibers are surrounded by dielectric strength members (FRP) and a rugged polyurethane outer jacket for superior environmental and mechanical protection. Fiber counts run 1 to 144, with 2, 6, 12, and 24 fibers most common; 48, 96, and 144 fibers are available for specific applications.
