Pigtail SC/UPC 6 Colors OM4 0.9mm OFNR 3M, Tight Buffer from Red Cable Technology (RCT) is a fiber optic pigtail for terminating multimode cable by fusion or mechanical splicing, built on laser-optimized 50/125 µm OM4 fiber with an SC/UPC connector on a 0.9mm tight-buffered, OFNR-rated 3-meter lead — six color-coded leads.

Features & Specs:

• Use: terminate fiber optic cables via fusion or mechanical splicing; quality pigtails plus correct fusion splicing give the best termination performance; used in ODFs, fiber terminal boxes, distribution boxes.
• Connector — SC/UPC: SC connector with UPC polish — polished with no angle (not exactly flat; a slight curvature for better core alignment); UPC connectors are blue, APC connectors are green.
• Fiber: 50/125 µm multimode OM4 — a further improvement over OM3 with the same 50µm core; supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet at lengths up to 550 meters and 100 Gigabit Ethernet at lengths up to 150 meters.
• Laser-optimized multimode fiber (LOMMF) is designed for use with 850 nm VCSELs; OM4 carries the suggested jacket color of aqua.
• Lead: 0.9mm tight-buffered construction, 3 meters, OFNR rated, six colors.
• Tight buffer: 900µm buffered fibers with two-layer coating — plastic first, waterproof acrylate second; the core is never exposed the way loose-buffered cable can be; dielectric FRP strength members under a rugged polyurethane outer jacket for superior environmental and mechanical protection.
• Fiber counts: tight-buffered cable runs 1 to 144 fibers; 2, 6, 12, 24 are most common, with 48, 96, 144 for specific applications.
