**Patchcord SC/APC – SC/APC Singlemode OS2 9/125 G675A1 Duplex Zip 2.0mm OFNR Yellow** from **Red Cable Technology (RCT)** is a bend-insensitive **OS2 9/125 singlemode** patch cord with **SC/APC connectors** on both ends. The rugged **yellow 2.0mm duplex zip OFNR jacket** and angled APC polish make it a natural fit for return-loss-sensitive links — RF video, GPON, and FTTX outside plant.
**Features & Specs:**
- SC/APC to SC/APC connector configuration
- OS2 9/125µm singlemode fiber, G675A1 bend-insensitive
- Rugged yellow 2.0mm duplex zip cord OFNR jacket
- Polarity is clearly marked with yellow polarity labels
- SC connectors are shipped unclipped but include the clip to be applied in the field if desired
- SC is a snap-in connector with a 2.5mm ferrule much like the ST connector, known for excellent performance; simple, rugged, and low cost, with push-on/pull-off operation that makes it a popular choice
- G675A1 bending-insensitive singlemode fibre provides good resistance to macro-bending, with low macro-bending sensitivity and a low water-peak level
- Comprehensively optimized for use in the O-E-S-C-L band (1260–1625 nm); resists additional losses from low macro-bending in the 1625 nm wavelength region, which supports L-band applications and allows easy installation without excessive care when storing the fibre
- Singlemode fiber provides a greater transmission rate plus nearly 50 times longer distance than multimode fiber, though it is more expensive; the most basic difference is core size, along with the associated loss (attenuation) and fiber bandwidth
- UPC connectors are blue while APC connectors are green
## Built for return-loss-sensitive links
Some applications are more sensitive to return loss than others and call for APC connectors — for example, higher optical wavelength ranges (above 1500 nanometers) like those used for RF video signals, where reflected light can adversely impact the signal. That’s why most cable companies and other FTTX providers use APC connectors in outside plant applications. APC connectors are also common in passive optical applications (both GPONs and passive optical LANs), since many of those systems use RF signals to deliver video. Future higher-speed passive optical networks and other WDM applications running higher wavelengths over singlemode fiber will likely also require the reduced return loss of APC connectors.
## About the fiber
These Shaxon patch cords use bending-insensitive G675A1 singlemode fibre that encompasses all the standard features while resisting macro-bending. Low macro-bending sensitivity and a low water-peak level, comprehensively optimized for the O-E-S-C-L band (1260–1625 nm), mean the fibre tolerates tight routing and storage without the added losses you’d see in conventional singlemode — handy in crowded panels and outdoor enclosures alike.
