Pigtail SC/UPC 06 Colors OM3 0.9 mm OFNR 3M, Tight Buffer from Red Cable Technology (RCT) is a 6-color pigtail set on laser-optimized OM3 50/125 µm multi-mode fiber, made for terminating fiber optic cables through fusion or mechanical splicing. Each leg runs 3 meters of 0.9 mm OFNR-jacketed fiber into an SC/UPC connector — a quality pigtail plus correct fusion splicing delivers the best termination performance possible. They land exactly where you’d expect: ODFs, fiber terminal boxes, and distribution boxes.

• Newer deployments favor laser-optimized 50/125 µm multi-mode fiber (OM3), which provides enough bandwidth to support 10 Gigabit Ethernet up to 300 meters; manufacturers have refined the process enough that cables supporting 10 GbE up to 400 meters can be made
• Laser-optimized multi-mode fiber (LOMMF) is designed for use with 850 nm VCSELs

• Tight-buffered construction uses 900 µm buffered fibers; the core is guarded by a two-layer coating — the first plastic, the second waterproof acrylate — so the core is never at risk of exposure the way it can be in loose-buffered cable
• Fibers sit inside dielectric strength members (FRP) and a rugged polyurethane outer jacket, giving superior environmental and mechanical protection
• Fiber count for tight-buffered cable ranges from 1 to 144 fibers; 2, 6, 12, and 24 are most common, with 48, 96, and 144 available for specific applications
